It was a full day of interactive and at times quite intense exercises, using audio, visual and kinaesthetic methods to engage the participants’ senses on many levels.

The day focused on the three central elements of delivering a great business presentation: Preparation. Writing. Delivery.

On Preparation, we covered all the steps involved in the ground work needed before moving onto Writing, including considering how your Personal Brand directly impacts on how your message is received; identifying your objectives so that you are clear on your specific goal, wider objective and personal motive; audience analysis to be clear on who your audience is, their demographics, mood and what they currently think of your objectives; how to brainstorm & research your topic effectively.

Through the Writing process we focused on the critical importance of finding and giving value to your audience to make your presence count; the optimum structure of a presentation (engaging Opening, leading Introduction, purposeful Main Body, climactic Conclusion, and satisfying Closing);

Finally, on Delivery, participants delivered several 1 minute presentations, each time focusing on a different aspect of delivery, including: hand gestures & body language, stance, voice projection, eye contact, nerves & fear, as well as a specific exercise on the best use of the dreaded PowerPoint.

All attendants finished off with a Final 3 Minute Presentation to the group, putting together all that had been learned and covered through the day. This presentation was recorded and some final notes on their performance sent to give each person an objective assessment of their performance and some notes to help with ongoing development.

Attendants also provided some very useful constructive criticism, both on the content and focus of the workshop, which as ever we will use and apply to further develop and improve the impact of the workshop.
